***sliding scale guideline***
words credited to
- true cost: $150
This reflects the true cost of the class. It is the cost that would be charged to all students in the absence of a sliding scale. If you have access to financial security, own property or have personal savings, you would not traditionally qualify for sliding scale services. If you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life, you have economic privilege and power in our community. This price is for you.
- middle cost: $115
This reflects the teacher's acknowledgement that paying the full cost would prevent some folks from being able to attend, but who do not honestly find themselves reflected in either descriptions for the highest cost or the lowest. If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., you belong here. If you, however, can ask others for financial support, such as family members, partners, or friends, please consider using those personal resources before you use the resources of the sliding scale and limit opportunities for others.
- the bottom cost: $75
This represents an honest acknowledgment by the teacher that there are folks whose economic circumstances would prevent them from being a part of classes if there was not a deliberate opportunity made for them to access services at a cost that is reflective of their economic realities. If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, and are living paycheck to paycheck or are in significant debt, you probably belong here and you deserve a community that honors your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.
***Do not forget that being a Koro member cuts this ticket cost with a 50% discount ($37.50 ticket cost, plus $10 per month for membership at bottom cost), and being a Kabasi member gives you complimentary access to these classes entirely ($0 ticket cost, plus $100 per month for membership at bottom cost). There is no obligation to continue your membership longer than one month - you have complete autonomy with your membership and duration at patreon.com/everuvi.
If you are Black, Indigenous and/or PGM (People of the Global Majority) and the bottom costs are still prohibitive, you may contact me directly re: scholarship - [email protected]
*about Clarinda*
Clarinda is a Pasifika dancer, sailor and marketing consultant whose work with business clients centers indigenous and decolonizing frameworks. You can learn more of her story in this profile written about her business in Forbes.
*what they say*
“[Clarinda’s workshop] felt like an invitation to recenter dignity in the way we imagine doing business. Humble and necessary. I was reminded of the importance of embodying my story and the ways my business can further embolden the connection between me and my ancestors.
- Phelicia Okon Magnusson | Herbalist & flower essence practitioner, creator of Queen & Crow Healing Arts
“I found the framework to be very unique and refreshing compared to other marketing courses I have taken in the past. I like Clarinda's incorporation of her background into her work and I felt like I was able to connect with her story. I found the focus on creating a small, curated community and being very specific about your offerings to be super helpful.”
- Seyi Adeyinka | Founder of Solar Flux
“...I have unique offerings like white ancestral healing workshops and decolonial approaches to offering and teaching reiki, as a biracial Japanese American. I learned there are ways I can work with small groups of people to get my message across in a genuine and interdependent way.”
- Hiroki Keaveney | Dragonfly Healing Services
“It helped me fully realize that there is success and profit to be found in doing business in a way that not only does no harm, but spreads positive seeds in your community. It confirmed my deepest hopes and intuitive knowings about how I want to run my own business. So much of what we've learned about business is stuck in masculine, old and, frankly, harmful ways of thinking and I look forward to breaking that cycle with the teachings Clarinda shared.
- Graciela Rasor | Writer, Artist & Human Design Reader
“This was exactly what I was looking for without knowing it. I am an impact-driven writer. I spent years researching current marketing techniques without putting them into practice, because those methods felt wrong (my audience is primarily children). I didn’t understand why—until this course. Clarinda laid out the hidden harm in the current widespread marketing practices simply and effectively, so that I better understood what I was avoiding and why.
Better yet, Clarinda offered us a people-oriented approach to business and business promotion to sink into: developing an eco-system of community around our offerings, one that has room and plenty to nourish both those we serve and us as the community-holders.
I highly recommend this workshop for anyone looking for a way to make long-lasting positive impact.”
- Shelby Bach | 5-Time Published Author with Simon & Schuster
“Clarinda captured so much of what I’ve felt about marketing (the ickiness, the manipulation, the disregard for humanity) with clear, compelling, thoughtfully researched and experienced language, then offered an inspiring, sustainable path out. Plus, she’s super gracious—sending follow-up emails, answering big, hard questions, and accommodating with integrity and generosity. I highly recommend.”
- Kate Raykovich | Writer
“It did exceed my expectations because the workshop made sense to all the conflicting emotions I've felt in the past with business. I have been trained to make sales using fear and "the close" and seeing people as dollar signs; it was not right for me. I always felt like I was working for a scam and it created such resentment for me as an employer that quitting jobs became a favorite past time until I started working for myself. I'm amazed at how much unlearning happened for me within just the first two days. I feel that I've been given marketing tools to make my business expansive with the potential to metamorphosis into something phenomenal.”
