Join our fun and friendly crochet course and make this gorgeous poncho in ‘easy to learn’ granny stitch! Here’s how it works:
Week 1 - Sign up to the course and come along to your first session where we will be covering the first 5 basic crochet stitches and having a go at the granny square. You can then take your granny square home to practice on during the week. If you’re already confident in making the granny square you can start your poncho! Your first ball of yarn and hook is provided.
Week 2 - We’ll now choose the colours you’d like to use for your poncho. I recommend using 4 different colours in a basic double knitting yarn. This will be available for you to buy at 10% off. We’ll then begin the first row of the poncho in granny stitch, starting with the neck hole. I’ll show you how to change colour for each round. Continue working on rows at home.
Week 3 - We’ll finish working in rows and add our ribbed hem. We’ll also start working on the detachable cowl which is worked in exactly the same way as the granny stitch rows we used at the beginning of the project.
Week 4 - We’ll put the finishing touches to our ponchos, completing the cowl and finishing off loose ends .
The sessions will be held at The nest, which is situated in the garden area outside the 2 birds tea room at Heskin Hall Shopping Village, Wood Lane, Heskin PR7 5PA.
