About this Event
Join PPBEP Staff on May 15th from 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM at Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze for training to become a Critter Catcher and Observation Tank Ambassadors for the Program.
We are looking for dedicated and reliable volunteers that want to learn more about PPBEP and can help staff at festivals and events throughout the watershed. The training will consist of a hands-on seine net lesson, critter ID, general set-up, and communication skills.
Please bring water, snacks, towel, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.), and wear clothes and footwear that can get wet (e.g., swimsuit, rashguard/sun shirt, wet suit booties or other water shoes).
Space is limited in this training. Please only sign-up if you intend to sign-up to volunteer for future outreach events. We rely on dedicated volunteers to show up to shifts they signed up for (other than emergencies). If volunteers do not show up, we will have to disappoint local students and children. Seining can occur in cold, hot, or rainy conditions. Seining is held unless there is severe weather.
