About this Event
How does media use race to normalize harm and how do we interrupt it as educators, journalists, and truth tellers?
A conversation on media power, racial narratives, and truth telling in hostile times.
Join us for a timely and urgent conversation between Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and scholar Dr. Christine McWhorter, author of Building Critical Race Media Literacy: Countering the Narrative. This event examines how structural racism operates through media systems and why truth telling in education and journalism is increasingly contested.
Supported by Howard University and the Center for Journalism and Democracy, this event brings together educators, students, and reporters navigating disinformation, censorship, and structural harm.
