About this Event
The Lake County SELPA, in partnership with the Lake County Office of Education, invites educational staff to participate in a full-day Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training focused on strengthening de-escalation skills for on-the-job support. Participants will:
- Review and strengthen de-escalation strategies
- Learn person-centered, trauma-informed approaches
- Build confidence in responding to escalating behaviors
- Identify practical tools and resources to support students in the educational setting
- Strengthen team-based approaches to crisis prevention
This training is appropriate for teachers, paraeducators, administrators, related service providers, and support staff seeking to enhance proactive behavior support strategies.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) is an evidence-based program grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed practices. This training is designed to help staff prevent, de-escalate, and safely respond to challenging behaviors in educational environments while preserving dignity and promoting positive relationships.
