We will be meeting at Greenbriar Cove Club House, 9555 Leyland Drive, Collegedale, TN.Murder by the River: A True Story of Homicide, Infidelity, Power and Revenge in a small Southern City (2022) by Jerry Burden investigates the 1973 murder-for-hire of Roland Hargis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The book reveals a local scandal involving club owner Billy Hull, corrupt officials, and a dangerous 1970s bar scene.
Jerry Burden grew up in Chattanooga and has written a book - Murder by the River - set in Chattanooga about a 1970s murder. The author lived there through most of the events recounted in the book. As an 11-year-old child in 1962, he represented the city as an ambassador for the Junior Chamber of Commerce extolling all the virtues that Chattanooga had to offer, in work, leisure and quality of life. He is currently semi-retired and lives in a suburb of Atlanta. Since the book, both in print as well as Kindle versions, was published in September of 2022, it has garnered a large following without any formal advertising.
