This 2.15 mile Green Trail hike will take birders through pine uplands, oak hammock, and marsh ecosystems in search of Swallow Tailed Kites which nest at CREW. We will stop at an overlook deck to view a 50 acre seasonal marsh, and a one story tall observation tower overlooking a 5,000 acre marsh that is the heart of the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed. Along the way we will look for songbirds, wading birds, and raptors along the trails, along with spring wildflowers.
Learn all about CREW, the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed, from CREW Trail Operations Coordinator Robin Serne.
Field trip is 8 to 10:30am.
There are portable bathrooms in the parking lot.
