Please join us on Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025, from 8:15 – 9:15 at The Monarch Apartments, a recently completed hotel conversion to permanent supportive housing apartments developed by Anawim Housing. Cynthia Latcham, CEO of Anawim, will be hosting us. Abbey Gilroy of Coterie Real Estate will discuss Construction as part of our Development Series.
The construction phase of a project is crucial because it's where all the planning and design work is translated into tangible results, essentially "building" the project, and it directly impacts the final quality, functionality, and success of the completed project, ensuring that the project vision is realized on-site through proper execution and quality control by the construction team. Any issues or errors during this phase can significantly affect the project's overall outcome.
An optional tour will be taken after the presentation ends at 9:15 am, for those that are able to stay and attend.
About the Location: The Monarch Apartments – The Monarch Apartments is Anawim Housing’s conversion of a previous Days Inn hotel on Merle Hay Road into 40 permanent supportive housing apartments with 24 hour onsite supportive services to house those currently experiencing homelessness. The project is the first of its kind in Iowa, a model to replicate as an innovate and effective way to meet a critical housing need in our community. Two of our CREW Iowa members worked on this project: Cynthia Latcham is CEO of Anawim Housing and Molly Cutler was the Owner’s Representative.
