About this Event

The Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC), in partnership with the Benjamin & Yancy Foundation, Inc. (BYF), will host “Crescent City Men Take Charge: Prostate Cancer Screening & Men’s Health Event” on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Xavier University of Louisiana, Qatar Ph*rm*cy Pavilion Auditorium (Room 112 B), 7525 Dixon Street, New Orleans, LA 70125.

This free community event will provide prostate cancer screenings, men’s health education, and access to local healthcare resources. Physicians and healthcare professionals will be on site to offer guidance and answer questions, empowering men to take proactive steps toward protecting their health and future. Attendees will also enjoy a free lunch and live New Orleans-style entertainment throughout the event.

Prostate cancer disproportionately affects African American men, who are more likely to be diagnosed at later stages and experience higher mortality rates. The event aims to reduce disparities through education, early detection, and connection to care.

The event is presented in partnership with Xavier University of Louisiana’s College of Ph*rm*cy and Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education, as well as Tulane Urology.
