About this Event
Bring the kids to the Fanshawe Park Conservation Area to learn about the bountiful nature in our local creeks and streams!
Join environmental educators for a fun, hands‑on Bioblitz in Fanshawe Park Conservation Area. Using iNaturalist, we will learn how to identify aquatic plant and animal species, all while enjoying the fresh air, sights, and sounds of the outdoors. Nets, buckets and observations jars will be available.
Please download iNaturalist and create your free account in advance. If you would like help getting started with iNaturalist then arrive 15 minutes early and an iNaturalist Ambassador will be there to teach you how to use the app to make observations. No prior experience or knowledge is necessary. Bring your curiosity and sense of adventure!
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and dress for the weather. The trails taken on the hike will be weather-dependent. The trails are not wheelchair or stroller-friendly, and we will be walking approximately 450 meters from the parking lot to the creek.
NOTE: This is a family event - an adult must accompany any children who want to participate (please select the number of tickets for each person in your party). No bathrooms will be available.
Meeting Location: Meet us at the entrance to the Tamarack Trail at Fanshawe Conservation Area.
