Embark on a unique sensory journey at Bohemian House with CreativiTEA, an evening blending ritual elements of the art of tea ceremony with the transformative power of watercolor painting.
Begin your journey with a cermonial exploration of tea and herbs, guided by Teishu Mike Barberesi, a certified tea sommelier and creator of Intentional Tea Time, which starts with breathwork and a grounding meditation designed to open up the senses in prepapration for a deep sensory experience with a custom tea blend that will magically transform three ways as you savor it. Learn about the health benefits and metaphysical correspondences of the herbs in this blend and connect to still more herbs, in ceremony, that you will use as your muse and medium in painting, but first for crafting your own custom cup of tea (or two, or three)!
Following the tea ceremony, you will create your own one-of-a-kind piece of art using tea and herb pigments. Painting with natural tea pigments has been used for thousands of years and originated in China, giving a sepia toned monochromatic watercolor effect. Tiffany Averill, owner of Bohemian House in Historic Ellicott City, is a master painter who will guide you along the process of self-expression. Intended to be an extension of the tea ceremony meditation, creating art in any form lends itself to balancing the central nervous system, and bringing the artist, no matter what experience level, closer to nature.
