πŸ“š Library Writing Sessions: Unlock Your Inner Writer!πŸ“…
Join us for a fresh season of free, informal writing workshops at Exeter Library! These sessions welcome writers of all levels and genres, providing a nurturing space to explore new ideas, build your skills, and share your work in a supportive group. Each session brings a unique theme, encouraging you to experiment with different forms and topics. Whether you're new to writing or a seasoned wordsmith, there's something here for everyone! Led by Library staff members Nat & Chris, with occasional guest facilitators

πŸ“˜ Upcoming Themes:

04 SEPT - Character
Kick off the new term with an introduction to the season ahead! We'll cover key techniques, do some creative warm-ups, and have a look at writing characters. Led by Chris and Nat

18 SEPT - Short Stories
With guest tutor Linda Lewis, we'll dive into the world of short stories, to examine some classics and think about crafting our own

02 OCT - Nature Writing
You’re a natural, baby. Nat leads a Nature themed workshop full of the birds, bees and trees - looking at how nature can be used to as a setting, a tone, a plot point, and a character

16 OCT - TBC
A special guest session TBC!

30 OCT - Spooky Special
How to write what scares you! We'll look at some (mostly silly) examples from the world of horror and beyond, to examine how to write work about fear. A fun Halloween themed special.

13 NOV - Creative Non Fiction Revisited
Discover the world of creative non-fiction, with a look at memoir, journalism and humorous essays

27 NOV - More Poetry, Please
You're a poet even if you didn't know it. Chris leads another poetry session, with silly warm ups, serious writing and some superb examples from contemporary poets

11 DEC - Winter Warmer
In our final session we’re getting all festive, with some winter themed prompts (and probably a couple of mince pies)

PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU BOOK A PLACE AND REGULARLY FAIL TO SHOW UP WITHOUT NOTICE, YOU MAY BLOCKED FROM FUTURE BOOKINGS. THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT WE CAN OFFER AS MANY PLACES AS POSSIBLE (though we will always try our best to
accommodate you - just let us know!)
