About this Event
The 905 Circle is excited to partner with Halton Black Voices for an evening of creativity, reflection, and community care at their Third Space located inside St. Paul’s United Church in Oakville (454 Rebecca Street).
About us
The 905 Circle is a grassroots creative collective building spaces for twenty-somethings across Oakville and the greater 905 region. Through workshops, creative gatherings, and community-cantered programming, we create opportunities for connection, creative expression, and cultural dialogue.
About Halton Black Voices
Halton Black Voices is a community-led non-profit dedicated to amplifying Black voices and fostering inclusive spaces across the Halton through cultural programming, advocacy, and community initiatives.
What to Expect
The night will begin with a guided poetry wellness workshop facilitated by Ilana McCullough (@ilanamcculloughpoetry), a Scarborough-based poet and spoken word artist whose work explores themes of self-discovery, nature, and wellness. Ilana will lead us through grounding exercises, reflective writing prompts, and gentle creative exploration designed to help us slow down and reconnect with ourselves.
After a short break, we’ll transition into a cozy movie night. We’ll choose from the film options available in the Third Space and settle in together for a relaxed, community-centered viewing.
Whether you're coming solo or with friends, this space is designed to feel welcoming and accesible. This is meant to be an intentional yet low-pressure evening – come ready to meet, reflect, create and mingle with us.
