About this Event
Join Amanda for a calming, connective and creative morning in the lower woodlands at Tegg's Nose to explore your connection with nature through meditation, heart-opening cacao, forest-bathing practices, creative writing and drawing activities.
You’ll be guided throughout on a sensory and creative journey. Amanda will share cacao with the group to open heart connection before guiding you through a forest-bathing meditation practice and creative activities to support you with capturing what you’ve been experiencing in nature- on paper with marks and with words using a simple Japanese practice.
This is a peaceful session that gives you time to simply be in nature. This isn’t about creating masterpieces, it’s about taking time to switch off, slow down and enjoy connecting with nature and expressing what you notice in nature.
“We all lead such busy lives, often filled with lots of 'noise' and 'stuff' which we never switch off from. Forest-bathing with Amanda provided some much needed time to be silent, to decompress, and to allow nature to restore you.” Georgina
What is Forest Bathing?!
Forest bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku as it’s known in Japan where the practice originated, is a slow, sensory based walking practice that helps you to unplug from the demands of daily life and reconnect with both the natural world and your self. Far more than a walk in the woods ~ it's an exploration of nature where you are “immersed in the atmosphere of the forest” through the use of nature invitations or activities so that you can experience the healing powers of nature to soothe the mind, restore the body, and rejuventate the spirit.
Please Note: This experience is focused on bathing in the atmosphere of nature - there is no swimming involved!
“Experiencing the woodland in this way is so completely different to going for a walk, I never knew it was this abundant and rich in lessons. Amanda creates a group in which there is no pressure to perform or share. I would highly recommend” Ella
About Cacao
Cacao is a plant medicine from the Amazonian rainforest. It’s chocolate in its purest form and has gentle yet powerful benefits - it boosts your energy, enhances focus, reduces stress levels and improves your mood. What makes cacao really special is that it can help you open your connection to heart.
We will be drinking ceremonial grade cacao from a farmer’s collective in the central highlands of Peru. Cacao that Amanda has been personally connecting with for 5 years. If you are pregnant and don't drink cacao regularly, have any heart concerns or are taking anti-depressant Medic*tion please check with your doctor first before drinking. If you prefer not to drink cacao please advise at time of booking and an alternative cacao tea will be provided.
Ticket Information

Mobility/fitness guidance: you’ll be on your feet moving slowly and sitting on the ground for creative practices, we will cover very little distance! This is more about being than moving! The woods we’ll be exploring do have a couple of short inclines and declines that we can take slow and there’s always a tree to lean on to rest for a while.
