Led by Megan Lumgair, the Founder and Creative Director of studio free folk, the Creative Altar Design Workshop invites participants into a space where play, presence, and intentionality guide the process—creating an artful harmony between fluidity and foundational design. Distilled into simple teachings, we will explore the origin and purpose of altars, what to include, where to place items, and how to arrange an altar. Before closing, participants will design a collective circular altar and be guided through a calming, contemplative meditation practice.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
The cost of the workshop includes access to a thoughtfully curated collection of antiques, art pieces, heirlooms, and natural treasures that we will use to build a shared creative altar together. You’ll also be invited to work with wild-gathered grasses, flowers, and thickets to bring the collective altar to life. Following our time together, you’ll receive an email copy of the presentation, complete with reflective prompts, an inspiring mood board, and 30 days of complimentary access to a library of meditation, movement, and breathwork practices to support your creative ritual at home.
Participants should bring with them a journal, pen, and one item for the collective altar.

BENEFITS
In this workshop, we’ll begin by exploring the origins and purpose of altars, discovering the elements that can be included, and learning how to thoughtfully arrange items with intention and meaning. From there, we’ll come together in a collective practice, collaboratively designing a circular altar using a curated selection of objects from both the natural and artistic worlds. We’ll close our time with a calming, contemplative guided meditation, allowing the energy of our shared creation to settle into spirit and body.
