About this Event
This continuing education workshop explores the role of creative expression in supporting emotional wellness, cognitive engagement, and meaning-making in older adulthood. Participants will examine how art therapy and creative interventions can promote resilience, social connection, and identity integration as individuals navigate life transitions associated with aging. The training will introduce practical, adaptable art directives designed for use in clinical, community, and medical settings with older populations, including those experiencing grief, isolation, or cognitive changes. Grounded in gerontological principles and the Expressive Therapies Continuum, this workshop will provide counselors with ethically informed and culturally responsive strategies for facilitating creative processes that support dignity, autonomy, and psychological wellbeing in later life.
