About this Event
Creating Joy is a series of fun informal mixed art jams that brings together music, song, spoken word, poetry, and dance into one spontaneous, infectious, and joyful space. Join us for the first session on Sunday 10 May 2026 afternoon at NLB! We enthusiastically welcome all ages and all levels to take part. This is “by the people, for the people” :)
Come ready to jump right in and have a great time. We have a curated lineup of artists alongside open mic slots, sing-along crowd pleasers, and audience participation.
Bring your instruments, bring your dancing shoes, and get ready to clap, sing along, enjoy… and jam! Being creative is so joyful - and “creating joy” shares that joy of creating with others. This is our first multidisciplinary jam and you’re encouraged to improvise!
If you'd like to be part of the artist lineup (you don't have to be a professional…just passionate), fill in the form here and we'll get back to you. Walk-ins are welcome on the day too. See you there!
About Creating Joy
Creating Joy is a mixed art jam series bringing together music, song, spoken word, poetry, and dance in one spontaneous, joyful space. It's for anyone who has ever tapped their foot to a beat, mouthed the words to a song, or felt something stir when they watched someone perform. Many of us played instruments or danced growing up — and somewhere along the way, quietly put it down. Creating Joy is the space to pick it back up, or to simply be in a room where that energy lives. No auditions, no pressure, no professionals-only. Just people creating together, because it's beautiful and because we need it.
About The Organizers
Creating Joy was co-founded by three Singaporeans who believe that creativity belongs to everyone and that joy is always worth making room for.
Meghana Vinai is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and creative consultant, and the founder of Sonder Ink: a creative label for artists and the creative industry, spanning personal development, branding, and communications.
Elaine Teo is The Mindful Hedonist - a coach, psychologist, meditation teacher, community-builder, and musician who guides people to unlock the simple pleasures of being alive. Through her philosophy of Mindful Hedonism, she shows others how to cultivate joy, have compassion for self and others, connect, and savour life in all its beauty. This in turn drives powerful performance - in all its forms.
Imelda Tan is an arts appreciator and the founder of Artskakis, which provides coordination services across arts, culture, creativity, and learning in Singapore.
