Join us at Vallis Farm for a hands-on, nature-led workshop exploring the craft of making beautiful and functional plant supports using natural materials. Rooted in the farm’s values of biodiversity, creativity, wellness and sustainability, this session offers a practical and inspiring way to deepen your connection with your garden and the landscape around you.
Led by Head Gardener Sarah, the workshop introduces traditional and contemporary techniques for working with willow and hazel to create decorative structures that support plants while enhancing the overall look of your garden.
These structures bring interest and form to your space throughout the seasons — not just when plants are in flower.
The workshop will be held mostly outdoors, allowing you to learn within the landscape itself.
What you’ll learn and experience:
Guided, hands-on tuition from Head Gardener Sarah, with demonstrations and time to practise techniques yourself.
How to work confidently with willow and hazel to create a range of plant supports, including domes, teepees, fences and container structures.
Ways to support climbers and herbaceous perennials such as peonies and dahlias, adding structure and beauty to your garden before plants flower.
