Creating a Sensory Toolbox for Wellness and Comfort

We are excited to invite you to delve deeper into your own self and relationships with loved ones during our "Creating a Sensory Toolbox for Wellness and Comfort" Event. By attending this virtual event, you are embarking on a journey of introspection, embracing the uniqueness that shapes our experiences.

Take a more in-depth look at your sensory processing by exploring what your sensory preferences reveal about how you interact with your surroundings and what brings you comfort or discomfort. This exploration will involve delving into the eight different sensory systems: sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, vestibular (movement), proprioception (input from muscles and joints), and interoception (input from internal organs and tissue). Strategies for each sensory system will be reviewed and shared, allowing you to build your own personalized "sensory toolbox." Through shared experiences and personal insights, we will enrich our individual toolboxes for holistic self-understanding and growth.

Tracy Lapreziosa, OTR/L, currently serves as the Accomodations and Wellness Coordinator for Networks for Training and Development. She joined the Networks team as of July 2017, however has been associated with Networks through her practice as an Occupational Therapist since the 90s.Tracy is a graduate of Elizabethtown College with a BS in Occupational Therapy and Kutztown University with a MA in Counseling Psych. She also has a specialty certificate in school based therapy from MCP Hahneman University. Tracy has decades of experience working with children, adolescents and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities as well as Spectrum disorders in a variety of settings including schools, homes and work environments. She has also studied Sensory Integration Practices with Sensory Integration International and completes accessibility evaluations which include the effects of the environmental sensory inputs on one’s ability to function efficiently in their environments.Tracy believes that understanding our own unique sensory processing is critical to our self-care, relationships and overall wellness. Integrating sensory strategies into everyday life benefits everyone!
