About this Event
The day starts with a short foraging walk nearby to collect natural materials such as leaves, twigs, feathers and seeds to add to those provided by the tutor. Working together we will then try out a range of playful nature art activities throughout the day. These include:
A flatlay nature picture on card
An imaginary insect of natural materials
A nature weave using a stick loom
Leaf stitching mounted onto canvas
A mini nature garden
The simple techniques we will use are hand stitching, tying, weaving and assembling natural materials. The activities are guided by the tutor but there is also time to experiment with individual ideas and combinations of materials, all foraged from gardens, parks and hedgerows.
Participants will take home 5 or 6 small artworks and a host of ideas for using natural materials at home and with family and friends.
