About this Event
Join in and create with nature and each other, working with the sand, rocks, shells, sticks, seaweed and other treasures of Leadbetter Beach. We’ll collaborate to make an array of playful and creative experiences and works to celebrate the place. Your host for this free public all-ages accessible gathering is environmental artist Zach Pine . Arrive and leave any time from 2-6pm.
Throughout the gathering, Zach Pine will teach participants how to make sand globes. It takes just 5 minutes for your first one! Sand globe making is spreading over the earth through the project Sand Globes Worldwide.
By design, the gathering offers opportunities for everyone to participate and join in however they wish. There will be some tabletop surfaces on the beach. NatureTrack will provide accessibility support with Freedom Trax mobility devices, all-terrain, power-driven wheelchair attachments that allow a wheelchair to sit securely on top and navigate on sand. To reserve a Freedom Trax, please use this link: (TBA). The restrooms at Leadbetter Beach are not ADA-compliant, but there is room for a front-approach wheelchair transfer. ADA-compliant restrooms are 300 yards away at the Santa Barbara Harbor.
