This unique Collage Workshop takes us on a journey through the essence of Spring: fresh green leaves, bursts of colour, new starts and blooming flowers. Suitable for beginners and regular creatives, this is a fun, relaxed environment to take some time to focus on your creative flow.
Mia will gently guide you with her multi step collage process, we will work together around the table, developing our intuitive decision making, delving into colour, form, story and texture.
All beautiful quality materials will be provided: base papers, inks, pencils, handcrafted papers, collected imagery, fabric trims, art markers and many surprises from Mia’s studio collection.
Mia is a practicing visual artist working primarily in collage, scluptural installation and digital storytelling, her works aims to articulate through form,movement, texture and colour. Mia also works in the social sector devising and facilitating public art projects and delivering creative workshops. Mia has worked extensively as a visual designer for retail, interior and outdoor spaces. Mia is passionate about investigating the intersection points of nature and the human form, the merging of the inner and outer realms of our daily life. Mia has twice been the People’s Choice Award Winner for the Art Town Exhibition in Stonnington, and has been Artist in Residence at Point Nepean, Australia, at Baile en el Aire, Spain and at La Muse, France. Mia has exhibited in the prestigious Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe exhibition and participated in the concurrent education program. Some of Mia’s past clients and collaborators include Adidas, Husk, Shire of Melton, Shire of Yarra Ranges, Eastern Regional Libaries, City of Dandenong, Sweet Co and Mornington Peninsula Shire. Mia has completed a Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts at the VCA, Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne University.
