A three-session masterclass delivered across two weekends, led by jeweller Georgia Symmons of Tyet Designs.
Please note: attendance at all three sessions is required.

Session 1 & 2 — Saturday 20 June, 10am–5pm
(with a break for lunch)
Session 1 — Designing a Cohesive Jewellery Set and Metal Piercing
Design a unified pendant, earrings, and cuff or bangle. Explore proportion, repetition, and negative space, then translate your ideas into metal using piercing techniques, with consideration of strength and wearability.
Outcome: Pierced pendant and earring components, plus a prepared cuff or bangle.
Session 2 — Bezel Setting and Construction
Create and fit bezel settings for cabochon stones. Solder, set, and assemble your components into a cohesive set with a focus on clean construction and balance.
Outcome: A constructed jewellery set with bezel-set stones
Session 3 — Saturday 27 June, 10am–1pm
Refinement, Finishing and Polish
Refine edges, prepare surfaces, and apply finishes including polished, satin, and textured.
Outcome: A finished, wearable jewellery set with a professional finish.
About the artist
Georgia Symmons is the artisan behind Tyet Designs, creating unique mixed metal jewellery inspired by nature and ancient symbolism. She combines traditional metalsmithing techniques with modern design, crafting pieces that are both meaningful and wearable. A passionate mentor, she teaches hands-on workshops, guiding others in metal shaping and texturing. Recognised for her craftsmanship, Georgia won Best Jewellery at the Derinya Art & Craft Exhibition and Best Working Exhibit at the Tasmania Craft Fair.
