Join us for a series of small quilt workshops based on the Louisiana-themed children's book One Noise Street Car by Christy Andrews. These small quilts are a great introduction for those new to quilting and are also lots fun for more experienced quilters.During each workshop, you will cut out your fabric, learn techniques for piecing the quilt top, start machine sewing your quilt, and enjoy time with other sewists.
Join Joelle on Tuesdays, February 11 & February 18, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to make the Crawfish Table Runner.
This is a good class for developing your skills as a confident beginner. If you know how to sew a straight line, can follow a seam allowance, and have recent experience using a sewing machine, you are ready for this class. We will briefly review the use of the Pfaff sewing machines in our sewing salon at the beginning of the class. You will learn techniques for cutting fabric for quilts as well as piecing and applique' methods for the top. You may need finish sewing your quilt top at home, but you will have all the skills you need to finish by the end of the workshop. Or you can swing by one of our monthly Sewing Labs to finish it up with us.
Class cost is $120.00 This includes four hours of instruction in a small group setting, use of our machines and equipment in the sewing salon and a copy of the pattern. You will need to purchase the fabric for the quilt, purchase a kit from us, or break in to your stash. Fabrics and quilt kits purchased from us for the workshop receive a 20% discount.
