In this class, you’ll learn how to capture the energy of moving water alongside the solid texture of weathered stone—creating a painting full of contrast, depth, and movement.
We’ll explore:
✨ Layering washes to build transparent, glowing waves
✨ Mixing rich ocean blues and sea-green tones
✨ Creating realistic rock texture with brushwork and dry-brush techniques
✨ Using shadows and highlights to add dimension and drama
✨ Painting foam, spray, and splash effects for dynamic impact
You’ll discover how to balance soft, flowing water with bold, textured rock surfaces, and how light transforms both elements. We’ll break down the shapes of waves and the structure of rocky shorelines so you can confidently build your composition step by step.
