In his new photo book, the American photographer takes us on a personal journey through his homeland. America Unposed is a humorous declaration of love that celebrates the country while leaving room for critical undertones.
In this high-quality photo book, Craig Semetko presents on 96 pages a collection of 67 images whose diversity combines beauty and turmoil, the banal and the extraordinary, the comical and the serious. With a foreword by Karin Rehn-Kaufmann and an interview with Tom A. Smith.

Craig Semetko (born 1961) is an American photographer born and raised near Detroit, Michigan. After graduatingfrom NorthwesternUniversity, Semetko began his career as a professional comedy writer and performer and years later discovered photography as another means of storytelling. His comedic background. has given him a highly-developed sense of the absurd and ironic, resulting in a strong theme of humor throughout his work. His book series began with Unposed — in the foreword to which Elliott Erwitt calls Semetko “the essential photographer. That is, the one who sees what others could not have seen” — and also includes India Unposed. His work is also featured in Both Sides of Sunset: Photographing Los Angeles. Semetko is inspired by the humor and irony that cross cultural boundaries and he travels the world to find them. He has taught photo workshops in sixteen countries across four continents, and his work hangs in private collections throughout the United States, Europe,and Asia. He resides in Los Angeles
