About this Event
Welcome to Crafts & Yaps! This is where we turn some bits of wood into something beautiful, and where conversation feels easy, not awkward.
Each episode starts with a mystery beginner-friendly wood craft (no experience required). We’ll keep it approachable, step-by-step, while you learn a woodworking skill with confidence.
And don’t worry, we provide all the materials and tools you’ll need. All you have to bring is yourself, your curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
Then, as we build, we’ll introduce guiding questions that are specifically chosen to help strangers become friends. You can participate as much or as little as you want. There’s no pressure to answer, and you don’t have to “perform” the conversation. We’ll open questions to the whole group, and anyone can jump in.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home the item you made.
The vibe here is friendly, respectful, and welcoming. So come as you are, and let’s learn something together!
About
a collective space is a woodworking and wellbeing social enterprise based in Mui Wo, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. Founded by a woodworker and a psychologist, we design hands-on experiences that bring people together through slow craft. Our workshops are built on the belief that making things with your hands is good for the mind, and that creativity is something everyone deserves access to, regardless of experience or background.
