Crafternoon was an experiment we wished to try out in the autumn and winter of 2025 as we were approaching the darker and colder months. Coming together indoors we wanted to celebrate our communities with actions that slow us down in a world that is speeding up. Though we are moving towards brighter times of the year, building communities and practicing slowness is still ever relevant.
This Crafternoon invites for a creative exploration of all the ways we interact with money in our society inspired by the collective art-making of the surrealists: not only coins and banknotes, but also contracts, receipts, invoices…
Money has become in-tacktile - from being very physical to digital but has always been moving - like water. There is a growing movement towards re-tacktiling the world.
In that world what would all these money infrastructures look like?
This series is a celebration of the crafts that have been taught to us from dear friends or relatives and the stories and traditions that go along with them.
