Craft Snippets is a way to learn about artisan crafts from enthusiasts and experts who love to share. This month we will hear from Gankhuyag Mungunjiguur.Gankhuyag and his wife Jessie are felt makers working with traditional techniques and natural fibres—from raw sheep and yak wool to the softness of cashmere. Since 2014, they have run a small felt art studio where they turn raw fibre into everyday pieces and statement artworks. Their collection ranges from jackets, scarves, and shoes to one-of-a-kind wall pieces. We value what nature gives us, honour slow craft, and design for warmth, durability,
and beauty.
Come along to hear Gankhuyag speak about his craft and after the talk we will look at craft books new to the library as well as chat about what is happening or coming up craft wise in and around Canterbury. We look forward to seeing you here.
