Craft Snippets is a way to learn about artisan crafts from enthusiasts and experts who love to share. This month we will hear from Therese Boustead.Therese is a local artist with a passion for painting in watercolour. She uses background colour to highlight the elegance, delicacy and fragility of nature, in particular New Zealand local and native birds.
Therese attended plein-air watercolour workshops in Barcelona and Portugal and also experienced painting in Spain, Italy and Turkey. Therese has developed her own unique style, which speaks to the environment and combines delicacy, tranquility and softness.
Only the highest quality paints, brushes and watercolour papers are used. Therese also undertakes her own framing and prefers using hand-stained wood frames.
Come along to hear Therese talk about her craft and after the talk we will look at craft books new to the library as well as chat about what is happening or coming up craft wise in and around Canterbury. We look forward to seeing you here.
