About this Event
For our first get together of the new season we'll be offering a choice of creative sewing projects, guaranteed to bring a little joy.
Our main focus will be these pretty padded coat hangers which are a wonderful addition to any wardrobe. Using vintage wooden hangers as the base, you'll make a covering with Lewis & Wood fabric remnants and trim with buttons and ribbons. There will be time to make one or two in the session and perhaps even add an extra decorative touch with a spot of embroidery.
There's also the option to make lavender bags during the evening and these are the perfect project for those new to sewing. These sweet sachets are made from fabric remnants, enhanced with embroidery stitches and filled with fragrant lavender.
You can choose to focus on one or both of these projects and there's always the option to make a start and continue your piece at home. You are also very welcome to bring along a project from Alex's previous workshops and she will be happy to advise.
Please note: We had originally listed fabric sewing rolls as a project for this session, but these will now be made at our October meet up. These lovely wraps are ideal for stashing your sewing notions while on the move. There will be an example at our September session so you can see what's in store.
