The next Craft Camp will be held on July 12th – 18th 2026 in Viljandi! We are delighted to introduce Craft Camp, a unique summer school for hands-on learning of Estonian traditional crafts. This immersive programme offers an engaging overview of traditional Estonian techniques and explores how these age-old skills are being applied in contemporary practice.
The camp is organized by the Native Crafts curriculum at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.
You will learn from highly qualified masters who possess extensive experience in their respective crafts, many of whom have been teaching for years.
The camp schedule includes:
* Three different workshops that each participant can attend.
* One dedicated day for an enriching field trip.
* Various cultural activities scheduled for the evenings and select mornings.
By the end of the camp, you will have gained a deeper appreciation for the distinctive characteristics of Estonian traditional handicraft and acquired practical knowledge in several techniques.
The camp will be held in the charming town of Viljandi. All workshops will take place in the modern Vilma building (Turu str 7), part of the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.
The primary working language of the camp is English. All workshops and field trip activities will be conducted in English or will be expertly translated from Estonian.
