“Cracked Teeth: Diagnosis and Management from an Endodontic Perspective”

Course Description:
Cracked teeth are commonly seen in daily endodontic practice. This presentation will discuss the clinical diagnosis of cracked teeth and the treatment options. Endodontic treatment has been proved to be effective in saving most cracked teeth.

Meet the Speaker: Dr. Feng-Ming Wang, D.D.S, Ph.D
Dr. Feng-Ming Wang completed an Endodontics Residency at the University of California at Los Angeles before joining the Department of Endodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor. Dr. Wang was board-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2017. Dr. Wang teaches both didactic and clinical Endodontics to predoctoral and postdoctoral students, and Cellular and Molecular Biology to graduate students. Dr. Wang’s research focuses on pulpal & periapical inflammation and autophagy in human diseases with the ultimate goal to develop new strategies in endodontic therapy and promote oral health. Dr. Wang serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics, the official journal of American Association of Endodontists (AAE), and the Research and Scientific Affairs Committee of AAE. Dr. Wang maintains private practice in Dallas, TX. He was named one of D Magazine’s Best Dentists in Endodontics for 2021.
Course Topics & Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. To learn the definition of cracked teeth.
2. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cracked teeth by evaluating symptoms and using clinical examinations. To discuss when to use Cone-Beam CT to examine cracked teeth.
3. Endodontic management of cracked teeth and its prognostic factors.
