The CPKC Holiday Express, formerly KCS, returns to Wylie on Friday, Dec. 9, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the Oak St. crossing on Birmingham Ave. Visit Santa Claus and walk through the three-holiday train cars filled with wonder. The event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required. Spend the evening in historic downtown Wylie and stop by the many shops and restaurants.
Train enthusiasts will also love to see (no inside tours) the beautifully restored Southern Belle passenger train that pulls the Holiday Express into town. The Southern Belle provided luxury service between Kansas City and the Gulf Coast region from 1940 to 1969.
