CPD Training Event - Counselling Children and Young People

This three-day Stamford College CPD Course will serve as a Stage 2 Practitioner Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People.
About this Event

The course will run on the 5th, 12th and 19th of June 2026 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Stamford College Campus and costs £200 for the three days.

Open to external and internal students.

For students in a Level 5 placement, it will enable you to counsel children of secondary school age (instead of 16 and above only).

The course, amongst others, will cover reasons for children to come to counselling, how counselling them may differ from counselling for adults and the legal and ethical considerations.

It will involve human development theory and how that may apply to young people and a segment on emotions. The course will spend time discussing counselling practice, contracting and supervision.

The course is suitable for students on a Level 4/5 Counselling course or higher and current counselling practitioners.
