We’re so excited to be hosting another edition of the acoustic benefit concert series! The first two editions were truly magical - if you know you know, and if you haven't been, you're in for a treat.
This time we’ll have the pleasure of drifting away to the sounds of instrumental music from 5 distinct projects. Tristan de Liege will present original impressionist compositions for piano, Chazlen Rook will dazzle us with violin sorcery, Planet 9 will take us on a journey through interlocking handpan melodies, Lauren Sonder will bring us to earth with her grounded and thoughtful piano melodies, and Invite the Infinite will present some new works for rubber bridge classical guitar.
In our first event we took the theme of supporting organizations resisting ICE and helping immigrants here in Oklahoma, and to that end we managed to raise $635 for Dream Action Oklahom. In our second event, we managed to raise $415 for the very important work that Planned Parenthood is doing. Thank you to everyone that came out and donated!
Unfortunately as we all know, these causes continue to be all too relevant as ICE continues to devastate lives and communities across the country and women's reproductive rights are under constant assault.
That being said, few organizations are doing more to standup and resist discrimination and injustice than the the ACLU. For this concert we will make all donations to support the work they're doing towards a more just society, and we may even get to hear about the work they're doing locally.
In these times its more important than ever to gather in community and experience the beauty of music with one another. It is medicine.
We ask that you come with an open heart, an open mind, and prepared to make a donation in whatever amount is comfortable for your current economic circumstance.
This event is all-ages, although we would ask that since the intention is quiet listening, that children (and adults) be capable of respecting that.
BYO drinks & snacks to share, and a pillow or blanket to make yourself comfortable on the floor. There will be limited chairs available if sitting on the floor is not an option for you.
