About this Event
Cozy Night In: Gathering to Listen is a response to the need for gatherings, community, and the importance of listening. Featuring two performances by artists Christine Kirubi and Shenece Oretha and followed by an informal Q&A, guests are encouraged to be fully present in the moment.
Colours Of Art School sees this gathering as a necessary act of taking up and claiming space as people of colour. It is a night for coming together with no requirement other than to listen and be present.
Christine Kirubi is a poet-artist based in London whose work explores the fluid and interwoven relationships between language and image. Her debut poetry collection, WILDPLASSEN, was published by the87press in October. They also lecture at the Slade School of Fine Art.
Shenece Oretha is a multidisciplinary artist currently listening from London. Their practice centers on the transformative power of sound, expressed through sound sculptures, multi-channel installations, poetry, workshops, and print. Oretha’s work explores listening as an active practice, embodying sound’s potential to shape space and experience.
