Argyll and Bute Befrienders – Supporting Young PeopleJoin Arlene Colewell (Charity Manager) and Lucy Neish (Project Worker for Cowal & Bute) for an engaging and insightful talk about Argyll and Bute Befrienders.
Discover how the charity supports children and young people aged 6–18 by recruiting, training and supporting local volunteers to become Befrienders. Through genuine, consistent relationships, volunteers help young people build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
Arlene has managed the charity for over five years and brings more than 25 years’ experience working with children and families across different sectors. Lucy is a former teacher with over 25 years’ experience and a rich background in theatre and the arts.
Arlene and Lucy will share real-life stories from the service, illustrating how befriending can be a powerful and meaningful experience - not only for young people, but for volunteers too.
(Please note: Argyll and Bute Befrienders is a separate charity from Cowal Elderly Befrienders.)
