In popular music, a “cover” song is a new performance or recording by a musician other
than the original performer or composer of the song. Over the course of the past few
decades, the volumes of pop music has been represented by composers and arrangers
alike. There are many arrangements done for choirs that are great arrangements for choirs!
Songs by the Beatles, Billy Joel, Queen, and Sting are among those artists that arrangers
have represented very well for choir ensembles. We can’t be those groups, but “Covers” is
a concert for us to represent great artists through our choral voice!
