About this Event
Join us to support the four animal rescuers who are being charged with felony grand theft for saving the lives of two sick baby goats, Phoebe and Celia. These compassionate people rescued them from a factory farm that produces milk for the nation’s largest goat milk brand, Meyenberg, which is marketed as “Certified Humane” and sold at Whole Foods. Phoebe and Celia were suffering from respiratory infections and would likely have ended up in the facility’s horrific and illegal dead piles. These charges are an attempt to cover up the suffering of animals and repress those who are brave enough to rescue them. Please join us in showing your support for animal rescue, and stand against animal cruelty! This court date is a preliminary hearing, which is like a mini trial in which the prosecution will call witnesses and introduce evidence, the defense can cross-examine them, and the judge to determine if there’s enough evidence to have a jury trial. This will be very interesting! We don’t know how long this preliminary hearing will be, possibly ~3 hours.---WHERE: Meet outside of the courthouse at 1640 Kings County Dr, Hanford, CA 93230
WHEN: Tuesday, May 19th, meeting at 12:45pm
WEAR: Dress nicely/business casual if possible, avoid clothing with political messaging
ACCESSIBILITY: We will be standing outside when we meet, walk in together then mostly just be seated in the courtroom---Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) is a grassroots network of animal rights activists.
