Join us for an early morning rally on May 11th in Toronto, on the first day of the criminal trial of Jenny McQueen. This will be a peaceful demonstration outside the court on Armoury Street in Toronto. Dress code? Smart casual. Signs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own too.
Gary Grill, vegan for many years, is the defence lawyer.
Jenny’s arrest happened in 2024 at the CNE - “the ex” - in Toronto. She was attempting to protest inside the “Farm” building - a deceptive and cruel display of live animals.
While this is a prosecution by the crown, for the legal term of "disobeying a court order", the peace bond in question issued to Jenny that was still in effect in 2024 stated no attendance was allowed at an "agricultural event. The CNE Farm building is literally a petting zoo, encouraging the public to stroke the fluffy rabbits, and to consider that goats can make affectionate and intelligent pets.
In 2025 the Ontario Pork council acknowledged that their "must see" exhibit could incur "negative public relations incidents" and withdrew the live pig exbhibit for 2025.
Please sign the petition to close down all the live animal exhibits at the ex: https://www.change.org/p/stop-the-display-of-live-animals-at-the-cne-canadian-national-exhibition
