Robin Morgan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker. She has over 15 years of experience working with couples and individuals. She is certified in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapy. She offers couple and individual therapy in Vernon and Kelowna.
At the beginning of Robin's career as a counsellor she specialized in working with couples and became the 1st person in the Interior of BC to be certified in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy. However Robin found that couples therapy alone was not enough to help the majority of couples. Robin then went on to study Somatic Experiencing Therapy which is focused more on teaching in individuals self regulation techniques. Robin uses a blend of these therapies to teach people how to regulate and then how to communicate. The workshop will teach you Somatic Experiencing skills for self regulation and co-regulation.
During the workshop, Robin will help you identify common negative communication patterns and how they cause problems in relationships. She will also explain how unresolved trauma can cause people to have bigger reactions in their personal lives.
Robin will also discuss how unmet adult attachment needs are at the core of most conflicts. She will teach you how to resolve conflicts in a calm compassionate way. She will also discuss ways to build a closer attachment bond with your partner. Couples and singles are welcome at the workshop.
