About this Event

Your spiritual journey was never meant to be made alone. Growth happens in communities where we can support, encourage, and challenge one another—where we feel safe to be our true and vulnerable selves. If you have ever wished for a circle of friends to travel with you on this journey and would like to start a men's group of your own, Illuman is offering a new Council Training Course this Fall.

This course will teach you how to create and lead what we are calling "Journey of Illumination Circles," small groups of men committed to doing life together over the long haul—brothers you can rely on through thick and thin. Central to these groups is the Way of Council, a communal contemplative practice based on listening and speaking from the heart within a small circle of men. Beyond council, the course will also provide you with a tool-box of other spiritual practices and group bonding activities to turn your group into a truly transformative and supportive community of friends.

After you complete the course, we will work with you to identify other men in your area that may be interested in joining you as you form your new circle.

This course is also ideal for current council leaders who want to refresh or expand their skills, or members of existing councils who would like to learn how to co-lead and support their current facilitators.

WHEN

Training Courses meet two hours once a week for four weeks, as well as one or two additional 1-hour council practice sessions throughout the month. Four sections of the Course will be available this fall, so you can choose the dates that work best for you.

Section 1: Thursdays, 2-4 PM Eastern — September 26 & October 3, 10, 17 -- SOLD OUT
Section 2: Mondays, 6:30-8:30 PM Pacific — October 7, 14, 21, 28 -- SOLD OUT
Section 3: Sundays, 2-4 PM Eastern — November 10, 17, 24 & December 8 -- SOLD OUT
Section 4: Mondays, 7-9 PM Central — November 11, 18 & December 2, 9

SUGGESTED DONATION

We don't want finances to be a barrier to anyone, so we simply ask that you offer a donation in any amount based on the resources you have available and your desire to help this program flourish. A donation of $60 will cover our costs, but if that is prohibitive, please feel free to give only what you can afford. If you have the ability, we also invite you to donate more to cover those who need to pay less.
