We are organising a Cotswold Morris scratch evening.What is a scratch evening you say? Read below for more details.
- Dancers -
This is an open event where anyone from any Cotswold Morris side is welcome to attend and join a set, provided you know the dance. You are very welcome to come along as an individual in your kit, there is no expectation to attend as part of a side.
- Musicians -
Experienced Morris musicians welcome to play for dancing. After the dancing, anyone and everyone is able to join in the music session.
This will be the first event of its kind locally, and if it proves successful, we hope to run similar evenings in the future.
The event will take place at The Pelican, in Gloucester from 7:30pm (Morris time) onwards, with dancing in the courtyard (weather permitting), followed by a music session indoors.
To give us a rough idea of what the sets for the evening might look like, please comment below with the traditions you know e.g Fieldtown, Bledington & Adderbury
All are welcome, whether you wish to dance, play, or simply come along for a Morris social.
