The Inaugural Corpus Christi Cathedral Gala: “A Family Reunion” will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel.
This will be an evening of food, fun, and fellowship, honoring the deep spiritual bonds that connect our community and our Cathedral family.
For more than 85 years, Corpus Christi Cathedral has stood as a cultural landmark, a spiritual home, and a sanctuary in our city. Your support will help ensure the Cathedral's role as a sanctuary in our "Sparkling City by the Sea" and a spiritual home for all families by supporting the programs and ministries of the Cathedral parish.

INTRODUCTORY REMARKS BY BISHOP AVILÉS
The Most Reverend Mario A. Avilés, C.O., Bishop of Corpus Christi will deliver opening remarks at the Gala. Bishop Avilés was appointed by Pope Leo XIV as the ninth Bishop of Corpus Christi on December 1, 2025, and was installed on Jan. 28, 2026. He served as Auxiliary Bishop of Brownsville from 2018–2025.
FEATURED GUEST SPEAKER: BISHOP DANIEL FLORES
We are thrilled to announce The Most Reverend Daniel E. Flores, Bishop of Brownsville, as the special guest speaker for the Gala.
A native of Corpus Christi, The Most Rev. Daniel E. Flores is the sixth Bishop of Brownsville. Appointed in 2010, he became the third native Texan to serve the Rio Grande Valley as Bishop.
He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Corpus Christi by Bishop Rene H. Gracida. As a priest of the Diocese of Corpus Christi, he served in a number of capacities, including Parochial Vicar and Rector at Corpus Christi Cathedral, and Chancellor for the Diocese.
On a national level, as a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Bishop Flores has served in a number of roles and currently serves as Vice-President.
