In this crochet workshop you will learn how to crochet reusable cotton washcloths using a technique called Corner to Corner (C2C).
Crochet washcloths are a brilliant reusable, eco friendly item. Not only that, you can make them in loads of lovely colours and patterns, and they're fab gifts!
C2C is a crochet technique that works from corner to corner, creating a square. Its great for making stripes, and can even be practised to the point where you can use it to crochet motifs in your squares.
This workshop is open to beginners, however having a basic knowledge of crochet would be advantageous.
Crocheting is an incredibly mindful and relaxing craft and, when you become proficient with the stitches, you will find that you can bring your crocheting out anytime you have a spare 5 minutes to relax.
All materials are included in this workshop, but if you'd like to bring your own, you're more than welcome! You'll need: 5mm hook, aran weight cotton yarn in 2 colours.
You will cover the ins and outs of crochet patterns and stitches. Throughout this textiles class, you'll soon start to feel the calming and mindful benefits of crochet, build your confidence and maybe even find your new favourite hobby.
This workshop takes place in the Library of Hotel Indigo, on Prices Street, Edinburgh. a coffee, tea or soft drink is included in your ticket price.
