The schedule will be confirmed later this week! There are lots of different activities happening throughout the Town Hall, Council Chamber, Shambles and Corn Exchange. But, for now, please diarise for Sunday 30th November between 12pm and 5pm!The building will be open to the public from Remembrance Sunday but, now we know we can achieve a November opening, we would like to host a special event to show people how versatile the building has become whilst promoting local groups/organisations and trying to raise awareness of the building’s incredible - almost 300 year - history.
In the Shambles, we will have a bar, photo booth, the Time Traveller’s Kitchen (with a Georgian Christmas theme) and a clay model making workshop for adults and children.
The Wandering Olive Dorset is providing a food wagon outside in the Market Place serving delicious, fresh Mediterranean food from 12pm to 5pm, including Dorset Gyros Wraps and Loaded Fries.
The Town Museum and Fashion Museum have been invited to bring a Georgian display to the Town Hall, and the Mace Bearers will have a table displaying the town’s fascinating artefacts.
In the Council Chamber there will be a rod puppet making workshop for adults and children.
In the Corn Exchange will be music - including a string quartet, Dan Baker and Matt Black - Nepalese dancing, and an animal workshop with iguanas, snakes and spiders!
The Corn Exchange kitchen will be manned by the Blandford Evening WI, serving free hot drinks and cakes. The Forum Cafe is also kindly providing free cakes for this event!
Or you could just pop in and have a wander around! The activities are all free, you only pay for the bar and food truck.
