Cormac Begley is a bass, baritone, treble and piccolo concertina player from a West-Kerry musical family. He plays in a number of projects including: duets with Rushad Eggleston (cellist), Clíodhna Ní Bheaglaoich (fiddle, viola and sean nós dancer), Liam O Connor (fiddle), Caoimhín O Raghallaigh (hardanger d’amore) and Liam Ó Maonlaí (singer and multi-instrumentalist); a trio entitled ‘Concertina’ (with Noel Hill and Jack Talty); and with the band Ré. He is the founder of Airt and the award winning Tunes in the Church live concert series in Galway and Dublin. His debut solo album, released in May 2017, has received critical acclaim amassing seven 5-star reviews to date (e.g., ★★★★★ in Irish Times, Folking and Irish Echo). Cormac was nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year at the inaugral RTE Folk Awards 2018 and his debut album was nominated for Irish Times Album of the Year.
Zoé Basha is a musician, composer and carpenter, of French and American origins. Based between Ireland and the traveling life for over a decade, Zoé blends traditional singing with blues and jazz. Her original pieces and traditional songs explore the crossovers between the sway of Appalachian mountain songs, the fervor and solemn ornamentation of Irish traditional songs, and the polyphonic, pushing rhythm of French Occitan music and American ragtime, through playful, syncopated guitar, a booming voice, and an accompanying band with an array of instruments including keys, dobro, fiddle and upright bass.
Following the release of an album with vocal harmony trio Rufous Nightjar in March of this year, Zoé is working on her debut album of original & traditional songs, to be released in 2025.
In 2023, she was a featured singer at Féile Róise Rua, and Music Network RESONATE Residency recipient.
