5:30PM - 7:00PM ALUMNI RECEPTION AT THE CORDOVA HIGH CAFETERIA - Cordova’s “Welcome Home” Reception for CORDOVA ALUMNI. Cordova High School puts this reception on every year for the alumni in our old school cafeteria area. We’ve been promised an Alumni Homecoming celebration that we won’t soon forget!
SPECIAL THANKS to JP DOLLIVER (CHS Athletic Director) and JEN LARET (FCUSD Board Member) for helping take the lead on helping to organize our Alumni Homecoming; along with our CHS team including AMY STRAWN (CHS Principal), ERIN KALUZA (Assistant Principal over Athletics), our utmost gratitude goes out to JOSH CREEGER (CHS ’93)(CHS Teacher/Activities Director) & his crew of students for all they have done for decades to make our Alumni Homecoming celebration incredible! Very grateful to BEE LOPEZ (Manager of EXPLORE Rancho Cordova with the RC Chamber of Commerce) for making special “fun bags” to hand out to our Alumni at the cafeteria reception (while supplies last!) and to SHELLY BLANCHARD (Executive Director of Cordova Community Council) for her contributions to this endeavor! And, to TERRY BEHRENS ’73 who has organizes this Alumni Homecoming celebration along with CHS for all of you! We are also thankful to the amazing BIG RED MARCHING MACHINE lead by incomparable KEVIN SIMS (Music Director) who will be performing for the alumni in the Amphitheater along with the “CHEERIFIC” CORDOVA VARSITY CHEER SQUAD that will be performing their cheers to get the Alumni back into the “Lancer for Life” spirit! Special thanks to their Cheer Coaches: Katelyn Sheehan (Head Coach Stunt/Competition) and Mckynz Jackson-Coel (Head Coach Sideline Cheer). Once a Lancer ALWAYS a Lancer!

PARKING is FREE this year! Parking is available by the old gym, cafeteria and stadium parking lots. You can also park in the school parking lot & the Rec Center parking.
STADIUM GAME TICKETS: There are NO MORE CASH SALES at Cordova Stadium! All tickets can be purchased using GoFan. Cordova High does have GoFan credit card readers that will be at the entrance of the stadium-so patrons can pay either through the app or with a credit/debit card, but not with cash. STADIUM TICKET PRICING: The price is $10 for adults and $7 for students/military/senior citizens (Senior citizens are defined as 65 and over).
CORDOVA STADIUM FOOD, BEVERAGES, TREATS and APPAREL: The Cordova Stadium concession area has a delicious snack bar, taco booth, funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos, beverages, Lancer merchandise, Spirt cheer merchandise and so much more. Be sure to check it out!
6:15PM - AMPHITHEATER ENTERTAINMENT JUST FOR THE ALUMNI: The amazing BIG RED MARCHING MACHINE lead by incomparable KEVIN SIMS (Music Director) will be performing for the ALUMNI in the Amphitheater along with the incredible CORDOVA VARSITY CHEER SQUAD performing their cheers to get the Alumni back into the Lancer for Life spirit!
7:00PM - End of the Alumni Reception in the cafeteria! We’re off to the Varsity game -- Cordova High School against Kennedy High School. Let’s GO BIG RED! (SEE TICKET PURCHASE INFORMATION ABOVE)
DESIGNATED ALUMNI SEATING AREA IN THE STADIUM: As you head over to the bleachers, the designated Alumni Seating Section will be set up in those first sets of bleachers (closest to the entry). Look for the CORDOVA ALUMNI LANCER LEGENDS banner on the wire fence in front of the bleachers! This will make it easier for us who aren’t as spry as we used to be, but still have the spirit to come to Homecoming! And, it will make it easier for us to walk over prior to the Alumni Parade lineup to get ready for the ALUMNI PARADE!!!
AFTER 1st QUARTER OF THE VARSITY GAME ... TEDDY BEAR TOSS!!! Bring a stuffed Teddy Bear (or ANY STUFFED TOY) to the game and let's show our ALUMNI LANCER FOR LIFE SPIRIT with stuffed animals soaring onto the track to give some love to the KIDS at the UC DAVIS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL from the CHS Community! When the game Announcer says the word AFTER THE 1st QUARTER of the VARSITY GAME ... TOSS YOUR STUFFED ANIMALS ONTO THE TRACK (the cheer squad will be holding sheets to catch the toys in)!
ALUMNI HALF-TIME PARADE! ALL ALUMNI ARE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE WITH THEIR GRAD YEARS LINE UP STARTING WITH THE FIRST GRADUATION CLASS OF 1965 & FOLLOWING IN SUCCESSION ALL THE WAY TO CLASS OF 2025! About 15 minutes before half-time; join all of the alumni at the home end of the field to get ready to line up at half-time in the track area of the stadium! BRING YOUR BANNERS & have your Grad Year signs ready for the Varsity half-time ALL ALUMNI PARADE that stands out like a beacon! Bring your spirit, your banners and signs, wear your school colors, old Letterman jackets and Club C sweaters, cheerleader uniforms (any part will do) ... BRING IT ALL … ESPECIALLY YOUR OLD SCHOOL SPIRIT!
ALUMNI CHEERLEADERS, SONGLEADERS & MASCOTS … PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL ANTHEM LINEUP & 1st QUARTER CHEERLEADING! Stand with all of the Alumni Cheerleaders for the National Anthem once again! The traditional lineup of Alumni Cheerleaders, Songleaders & Mascots is done in order of grad year with the eldest heading up the line! It's so fun and the current Cheer Squad gets a real kick out it! Let's show Cordova what "Once a Lancer ALWAYS a Lancer" is all about! Even if it's just for the National Anthem lineup ... WE WANT YOU TO PARTICIPATE!!! For all those who want to cheer on the side-line with the current cheer squad; you are welcome to participate during the FIRST QUARTER of the Varsity game!
CURRENT CHEER INSTRUCTIONS: The cheer squad is great and has a new Head Coach Sideline Cheer, Mckynz Jackson-Coel. NEED TO LEARN THE CHEERS? Cordova Cheer has provided a link for anyone wants to learn the cheers that the current team is doing prior to. They have an Instagram account entirely for learning their cheers (you’ll need to send a request for their Instagram site to accept your request to join), so do this early enough to get logged in!

HOMECOMING AFTER-PARTIES! Talk with your classmates and plan your own Homecoming After-Parties! Be sure to let your hosting restaurant know what you’re planning so they have enough staff on hand (that’s important!) Please note that Terry Behrens won’t be organizing anymore Alumni Homecoming After-Parties and has asked that all of you help by making your own plans & posting them on our Cordova High School Alumni facebook group page! The cafeteria doors will be open at 5pm for you to get in line to pick up your orders placed for alumni shirts to be picked up at Homecoming.
