Yemaya's Lounge invites you to Yoga with Rashida. An intimate, three-session Elevated Yoga Series where breath, movement, and community come together in one intentional space in the heart of Washington, DC.
Whether you're brand new to yoga or returning after time away, this series was thoughtfully designed to meet you exactly where you are.
ABOUT THE CLASS
Each 60-minute session offers a gentle, Vinyasa-style practice that links breath to movement, transforming the journey between poses into a moving meditation. You'll flow through mindful transitions, settle into moments of stillness and present-moment awareness, and close with an extended savasana and meditation, leaving feeling grounded, restored, and connected.
Classes are intentionally capped at 10 participants to create an intimate, attentive experience for every student. Every paid participant receives a complimentary gift after check-in.
This is a welcoming space for all bodies, all backgrounds, and all levels of experience.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR — RASHIDA EDMONDSON
Rashida is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (500 RYT), Yoga for All certified instructor, Reiki II Healer, and Level 1 Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, and she has been practicing yoga since adolescence.
A lawyer, social justice advocate, animal lover, and mom, Rashida's journey to teaching was born out of her own experience using yoga as a source of grounding, resilience, and healing, including during her recovery from a mastectomy and reconstruction. That experience deepened her commitment to a body-affirming, adaptive practice, one rooted in the belief that asana should fit the person, not the other way around.
Rashida created this series with a specific purpose: to offer members of her community, particularly those who have not always found a home in mainstream, Westernized yoga spaces, a place where they belong. Her classes are known for their warmth, accessibility, and the sense of community they cultivate.
